Coronavirus Policy for AI@Work 2020

AI@Work 2020 will be going ahead as planned, on March 5 th and 6 th , with our team taking necessary steps to ensure the sanitation throughout the event venue.

Updated March 2, 2020

  • The AI@Work organizers are keeping a close eye on travel advice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as advised by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
  • We ask participants to wash hands regularly and follow the WHO recommendations. We also advise attendees to avoid physical contact during the event, including a handshake. This will not be seen as rude in the current circumstances.
  • To prevent the spread of Coronavirus we recommend the following:
    • Wash your hands regularly
    • Cough and sneeze into your elbow
    • Use paper tissues
  • Amsterdam has an emergency doctor’s office, which exists for problems outside of regular doctor’s hours. The service operates around the clock (24-hour) and is available for nights, weekends and all public holidays. The number in Amsterdam is 088 003 0600. The operator will connect you with an emergency doctor in your area.

You can find the most up-to-date information about coronavirus on the website of the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. The RIVM is monitoring the situation in the Netherlands and has a questions & answers page available.

In the event that attendees are coming from, or have visited in the last month an area subject to travel restrictions or a travel advisory issued by a European government, we kindly advise you to refrain from attending the event, especially if you have any flu-like symptoms.

In the event you are coming from another area but you still feel you may present a risk to others (for instance you are currently living in an area with some community- based transmission or have exhibited flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days) then we ask you to consider the safety of other attendees and their families and that you also consider refraining from attending the event.

If you have any further concerns about your upcoming travel to Amsterdam, we advise that you consult the travel advice provided by your local government authority.
