GDPoweR Conference – Workers’ Data, Collective Bargaining, and the Platform Economy
11.September.2025 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The event will bring together researchers, trade unionists, activists, and policymakers working on platform labour, algorithmic management, and workers’ data rights.
This conference offers an opportunity to present the results of a three-year project conducted in five EU countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Poland, Spain), aimed at strengthening social dialogue and collective bargaining in the platform economy. A key focus of the project was exploring how GDPR rights can be used by workers to retrieve their personal data and analyse it for collective bargaining and oversight purposes.
Key topics of the conference include:
- Algorithmic management and its impact on workers’ rights
- Trade union and worker collective strategies in the digital labour market
- The use of personal data as a tool for collective bargaining
- Comparative perspectives on collective agreements in the platform economy across Europe
