James Farrar is Founder and Director of the Worker Info Exchange which was set up to help gig, platform workers secure their data rights as defined under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Worker Info Exchange has recently begun action against Uber for their failure to comply fully with driver subject access requests for their data. He is also Founder and Chair of the United Private Hire Drivers branch of the IWGB union. James Farrar is co-lead claimant in the successful 2016 worker rights claim against Uber in the UK which Uber is appealing to the UK Supreme Court this year. Previously, James has had a long career variously in technology and advocacy working previously for software giant SAP and pioneering transparency NGO Global Witness.
