Biography

Stefano Giubboni is full professor of labour law at the University of Perugia. He holds a Ph.D. in Laws from the European University Institute in Florence. In 2007 he was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School; in 2010 a Dickinson-Dees Fellow at the University of Durham; in 2014 a visiting professor at the University of Antwerp. In 2016, he was first a research fellow at Fordham Law School in New York, then a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow at the Law Department of the European University Institute. He has written extensively on labour law and social security law, especially from a uropean and comparative perspective (among his books: Social Rights and Market Freedom in the European Constitution, Cambridge University Press, 2006; Diritto del lavoro europeo, Milan, 2017; Anni difficili, Turin, 2020). He has been appointed several times as an expert in the field of EU social security law by the European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee and by the European Parliament, and since 2020 he has been a legal consultant of the Italian Ministry of Labour.
