Biography

Agnieszka Piasna is a Senior Researcher at the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) in Brussels. Her broad research interests lie in the areas of job quality, working time, labour market regulation, gender and digital labour.

She currently carries out research on the platform economy in Europe and she coordinates the ETUI Internet and Platform Work Survey. The project includes developing tools for data collection on the extent and characteristics of work through platforms, and assessing their social and economic impact. At the ETUI, she also develops the European Job Quality Index and carries out research into work and employment conditions in the EU.

She has been an expert advisor to the Eurofound, European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC), Eurostat, and ETUC. She holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Cambridge.
