Biography

Andrey Shevchuk is an Associate Professor of Sociology at National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, Russia. He is also a senior research fellow in Laboratory for Studies in Economic at HSE. His research interests focus on sociology of work, economic sociology, and comparative political economy. For many years, together with Denis Strebkov, he has been doing research on the development of freelance contracting and online labor markets in Russia, including four waves of the Russian Freelance Survey (2009, 2011, 2014, and 2019). Andrey authored and coauthored numerous academic papers, including articles in top-ranked international journals such as Industrial and Labor Relations Review, British Journal of Industrial Relations, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, Journal of Education and Work, etc. The topics include work values, skill mismatch, nonstandard schedules, work-life balance, entrepreneurial intentions, and freelancer-client relationship, etc. Personal page: https://www.hse.ru/en/staff/shevchuk
