Biography

Hendrik Meerkamp is Senior Policy Adviser at CESI, the European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions, a European trade union umbrella organisation and sectoral social partner representing more than five million workers across Europe. In this capacity, he coordinates the EU-level social dialogue participation of the organisation and its legislative advocacy work in the area of horizontal EU employment and social policy – which also includes a currently negotiated new EU directive on working conditions in digital labour platforms.

As a native German and working in EU affairs since 2012, he has held different professional positions in the European Parliament, in Brussels-based lobby and political intelligence consultancies and, since 2015, at CESI. Hendrik holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Politics and History from Jacobs University Bremen (Germany) and a postgraduate Master’s degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium).
