Biography

I am a PhD researcher exploring how algorithms are reshaping the work of academic medical professionals, with a focus on control and autonomy in hospital settings. My research draws from public administration, organisational science, and science and technology studies to examine the professional-organisation-algorithm triangle in healthcare. I am currently working on three papers: a historical review of radiology technology to understand how tech reshapes professional power; an interview study on how industry imaginaries shape healthcare actors’ expectations; and an ethnographic study on collaboration between developers and doctors, exploring how differing epistemic cultures negotiate innovation. Through this work, I aim to provide governance recommendations to better align algorithmic innovations with clinical practice—or understand why alignment fails.
