Stella Kyratzi

Biography

Stella (she/her) is a postdoctoral researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, working within the AI@Work group. Her research explores how emerging technologies—particularly robots and algorithms—are transforming the nature of work, not just in tasks, but in how workers think, feel, and move. She uses ethnographic methods to study human-technology interaction in real-world settings, focusing on how emerging technologies influence not just what people do at work, but how they think, feel, and move, ultimately reconfiguring what it means to be a knowledgeable and skilled worker. Originally from Greece, Stella recently submitted her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, where she studied food delivery platforms and how algorithmic systems reshape knowledge, identity, and bodily labour. She also holds a BA from the University of York and an MA from the University of St Andrews. Outside academia, Stella is an avid reader and also enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring new cuisines.
