Tamara Thuis is a PhD Candidate at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Business Information Management, and a Double Degree in Philosophy. In her research, she combines the fields of management, technology, and philosophy by studying the implementation of AI ethics in organizations. She specifically focuses on the AI ethical principles of explainability and responsibility, and the ways in which these two principles interact in AI decision-making. Tamara explores these topics in close cooperation with industry partners. Next to her PhD, Tamara is a co-founder of EDSA (Ethical Data Science Association), an initiative that brings together public, and private organizations as well as academic institutions to exchange knowledge on the application of AI ethics in practice.
