Community Manager – Internship (2 positions available)

If you are creative, entrepreneurial and interested in the new technologies, innovations, and platform economy (e.g. Uber, Deliveroo, Upwork), this position is perfect for you! Your responsibility will be to, together with another intern, organize community events or meet ups with the purpose of getting ‘commoners’ acquainted with the world of digital innovations. The events can take a form of keynote speeches, storytelling nights or workshops. You are expected to develop the concept for these events, find locations, and independently organize the events in Amsterdam.  

Key Responsibilities

  •  Planning the meet ups in its entirety - ensuring clear and detailed instructions are handed over to the venue and speakers to ensure that every meetup runs smoothly on the day itself

  • Marketing of the event

  • Manage the post-event process from billing and receiving payments to following up with the audience and handling feedback

  • Create post-event evaluation reports

  • Build excellent relationships with the community through written and verbal communication

We are looking for…

Job Specifications

  • Engagement: One day a week from March 1st to – October 31st (we work around flexible working hours to suit your other commitments)

  • Remuneration: 500 eur in total. There is a possibility for employment following the internship.

Reshaping Work Assistant

Reshaping Work Assistant - Internship

We are looking for an assistant to help with the organization of the Reshaping Work conference, taking place on the 24th and 25th October in Amsterdam. The hours will vary – starting with few hours a week in March and increasing to 20h a week in September and October. On average it will be 1 day per week. You are required to come to the VU every Wednesday.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn about & assist with the use of programs such as Mailchimp, Squarespace, Airtable etc

  • Create bi-weekly agendas for meeting as well as reports

  • Filing, organizing, and data management of material such as invoices, quotes etc

  • Being able to ensure that the events are performing in line with budget as well as being able to update the budget when necessary

  • Help develop communications plans for Reshaping Work events and channels, and implement them with team members according to agreed timelines

  • Contribute to creating written and multimedia content (articles, press releases, newsletters, marketing materials, social media content, etc. ) to be used across Reshaping Work’s communications channels

  • Support the team where needed during the days of the conference (24 & 25 October, 2019)

  • Is a good communicator with excellent written and verbal English language skills

Job Specifications

  • You are required to come to the VU at least one day per week

  • Remuneration: The compensation for helping with the project is 500 eur in total
