2 Community Managers - Internship

This is an internship that will last from February 1st to – October 31st for approximately 1 day a week. You do not have to work from the office but you will have a space at the Vrije Universiteit if you wish to. You will be responsible, together with another intern, to create meetups for Reshaping Work. These will be 2-hour long mini events for the general public. For instance, one evening we can invite a speaker to give a talk, the next time we can organize an improv (comedy show) on the topic ‘work’  and so on. You are expected to come up with ideas, find potential locations, and organize events. There is a possibility of a paid position if the concept proves successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for planning the meetups, ensuring clear and detailed instructions are handed over to the venue and speakers to ensure that every meetup runs smoothly on the day

  • Manage the post-event process from billing and receiving payments to follow ups with the audience and handling feedback

  • Being able to ensure that all of your events are performing in line with budget

  • Create post-event evaluation reports

  • Build excellent relationships with the community through written and verbal communication

Job Specifications

  • Engagement: One day a week, from February 1st to – October 31st (we work around flexible working hours to suit your other commitments)

  • Remuneration: The compensation for helping with the project is 100 eur per month

Reshaping Work Assistant

We are looking for an assistant to help with the organization of the Reshaping Work conference, taking place on the 24th and 25th October in Amsterdam. The hours will vary – starting with few hours a week in March and increasing to 20h a week in September and October. On average it will be 1 day per week. You are required to come to the VU office at least one day per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn about & assist the use of programs such as Mailchimp, Squarespace, Airtable etc

  • Create bi-weekly agendas for meeting as well as reports

  • Filing, organizing, and data management of material such as invoices, quotes etc

  • Being able to ensure that the events are performing in line with budget as well as being able to update the budget when necessary

  • Help develop communications plans for Reshaping Work events and channels, and implement them with team members according to agreed timelines

  • Contribute to creating written and multimedia content (articles, press releases, newsletters, marketing materials, social media content, etc. ) to be used across Reshaping Work’s communications channels

  • Support the team where needed during the days of the conference (24 & 25 October, 2019)
