RETHINKING THE FUTURE OF WORK
Reshaping Work is an initiative that sparks discussion around digital trends, promotes research and collective thinking by organizing a series of events on a global and regional level.
The rise of the platform economy has introduced a convenient way to match those in need of services to those who can offer them, and all with a click of a button. The number of so-called ‘gig workers’ or ‘platform workers’ is rising. What will the future of work look like?
On the 24 & 25 October 2019, academics, policymakers, business leaders and platform workers will come together to experience the future of work and find ways to shape it. We will convene this group of people during a two-day conference held in Amsterdam. Participants will get the latest insights, not only from policymakers, academics, and business leaders but also from platform workers themselves.
Two days full of discussion, interaction, cooperation. Involving all stakeholders is key in the debate around the future of work. Huge thanks and congrats the team for organizing Reshaping Work 2018: your unique conference helps to achieve just that! pic.twitter.com/ni8Hb8OK1d
When came across the event I could connect to it immediately. I knew, as a gig worker and an artist, that I wanted to be a part of the discussion, but nothing could have prepared me for how damn good the experience was.
We cannot understand the gig economy until we grapple with its competing narratives: Reshaping Work provided a unique opportunity to hear from and discuss with representatives of gig economy workers, academics, and platform operators. A great event!
Thanks for the great conference @reshaping_work @karanovic_j @nielsvdoorn & everyone else involved! I understand how much work it must have been to pull everything together. And it all worked beautifully. Really well organized. #ReshapingWork2018

There is a healthy tension in the room at #ReshapingWork2018. @Deliveroo‘s Stijn Verstijnen & @Uber‘s @LaurinSepoetro share the stage with people who work through ‘their’ platforms. #platformeconomy #gigeconomy #platformwork stay tuned at #ReshapingWork2018 & @reshaping_work pic.twitter.com/XP8LP09oCF
